If you are unable to google for free av programs, i will assume you do not know that you need the McAfee removal tool to remove it first, before installing a top av program for free.

One I personally like is called DriveSentry because of the multi layered technology it uses. In other words a HIPS scanner. Something you won’t find in many free AV programs or paid AV for that matter.
