How do you connect a PS3 to the internet?
I want to know how to connect a PS3 to the internet. I know you can connect it through a netgear box which i own, but my mother will not let me use it because she things it will weck the computer. I do have in my room a wirless network stick which allows me to go on the internet on my computer. Is there anyway of using that to get my PS3 on the internet?

all i know is my husband has his ps3 hooked up through a router it automatically picks up the signal

Yes, find the wep or wpa key that your wireless stick in your room uses to connect to the net.
then put this WEP or WPA key into your PS3 settings.
Your mother will never know
If your network is insecure or unsecured, then you wont need a wep or wpa key, just connect wirelesley. – go to PS3 network settings and scan for wifi, choose your router and connect.
I do suggest to you have a secure wireless network (using WEP or WPA encription).

You need to plug the ethernet cable from the back of the ps3 into a router. It will not interfere with your computer and nobody will be able to access your computer through your ps3. The router is a firewall as well as a connection gateway. It will provide the fastest possible connection for gameplay and will not cost you any more money.

Just go to Network settings in the Main Menu bit before you load up a game, and select “auto” “next” etc etc and it’ll work like magic.
