Will running AVG anti Virus scan on my machine pick up EVERY possible?

Will running AVG anti Virus scan on my machine pick up EVERY possible virus or Trojan, whatever that’s on there – am I guaranteed not to have any key loggers, viruses etc. after running it ?

or will it miss stuff that’s already installed or maybe hidden in normal windows files ? or even running in processes ?

    Nothing is 100%.

    Run AVG, Superantispyware, and Malwarebytes.

No it wont like has already been said you need to run other things, and even then nothing is guaranteed to pick up everything. If youve got something relatively new on your system it may not be detectable yet.

It why firefox + noscript + adblock + firewall + antivirus + antimalware + antispyware is the way to go. Nothing runs on my machine without permission. NOTHING

avg is free and you get what you pay for.. but really no anti-virus can guarantee it will find every virus every time.

Firstly, there is no security program that can 100% shield you from the nasties in this cyber world.

Second, if there’s already a “bad” stuff in the system before you install the said security software, it might stays undetected (since it’s already took control of the system thus fooling the anti virus).

So, the best way to minimize your chance of getting infected is by using different security program independently.

For example, you can run these on your pc:
    – Microsoft Security Essential, anti virus
    – Avira Antivir, anti virus
    – ZoneAlarm Frre Firewall, firewall
    – MalwareBytes AntiMalware, malware/adware removal
    – SpyBot, malware/adware removal

and it also a good idea to install link scanner (can’t remember who got this, maybe McAfee or AVG) so it will scan the link from google search result and tells you if that site is safe to browse.

    Good luck!

AVG is one of the best FREE anti-virus software programs available on the Internet. Nothing is perfect, even with regular updates. You can back up your AVG software with other software such as ASC (Advanced Software Care) – use the FREE version.

You can download the ASC software at this link
    http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Free/3000-2086_4-10407614.html

I’ve been using AVG and ASC for nearly two years and have so far had no problems. Both pgms get updated but you’ll have to ask for an update on line for both.

All anti virus pgms can only pick up what they “know” or at best pgms that may look suspicious due to behavior. Of course this latter reporting can give you false “positives”. AVG is as good as some of the pay pgms, and even better than others. Just make sure you keep your virus definitions up to date. Remember they can only catch what they know and new viruses come out daily

There is nothing can give you 100% guarantee, not to mention a free antivirus, free version often have limited functions. You can choose Kaspersky antivirus, which can give you a better protection, but you must pay for it.
Just have a try the laterset version: http://www.globalshareware.com/Utilities/Antivirus/Kaspersky-Anti-Virus-2010.html, you will be satisfied with it!

Hello this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
