A couple days ago my Norton ran out and i don’t feel like paying $40 for a new subscription…was wondering if anyone knew a good but free Anti virus that will get the job done.

AVG antivirus is a free download, and works really well, it is not a resource hog like norton.

AVG is the best free AV available, but keep in mind you get what you pay for. AVG won’t cost you anything, but you shouldn’t expect the same kind of quality as a subscription version, like Kaspersky.

If you’re running Windows Vista or Windows 7, you already have a free antivirus program called Windows Defender. Using Control Panel and Security Center, find it and adjust the settings, and also download the latest definitions.

If you’re running XP, you can download Windows Defender directly from Microsoft. Never download a Microsoft product from any website except microsoft.com or download.com (these are trusted sites, both owned by Microsoft). For XP Windows Defender:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx

Secondly, use a good adware scanner, such Ad Aware. Go to lavasoft.com, and download the correct version for your operating system (i.e. XP, Vista, Windows 7).

    Best of luck.

You can go to http://www.tucows.com or go to http://download.cnet.com and you can find good free ware anti virus , but make sure to remove all of your current one as some anti virus will not load or run properly if you still have files or folders left over from another anti virus

This has been happening for some time now, Yahoo are working on it they say but for now try this.Recommended fixes for the many current problems include Update Adobe Flash Player Internet Explorer and Java script . Clear Explorer cache, cookies, and browsing history. Some find that a return to classic mail improves things. You could also try an alternative browser. Hope this helps
