What’s the safest way to install an internet security software if u wanna change to another brand?

I have an unexpired internet security software already installed and want to install a different brand than the active one. What’s the best way to install the new brand while still running the former?

You should un-install the previous security software before installing the new one to avoid any incompatibility issues. The best way to do this is download the specialist un-installer from the manufacturers website. This should ensure that every trace of the program is removed. Once you have done this, you can safely install the new software.

You should not run 2 AVs together or try to install one with another one already installed.

If you are downloading the new one.
Download it, then disconnect from the internet.
Remove the old one and then install the new one.

If you have the new one on CD.
    Disconnect from the internet.
Remove the old one and then install the new one.

If you need instructions and removal tool for your old AV check the article in the link below.

Before installing new security softwear you will need to delete the one which you have been using from your system because the two systems will conflict with each other.

Then once you have installed your new security softwear whether it is Norton or McAfee they will check your computer for any threats and ‘clean’. Also because security softwear has also ‘firewall’ you will need to switch off Windows ‘firewall”

Hope this helps, Regards from Davie
