   i am rooting for AVG…
   it detects Trojan horses very well, just recently i got one, and i did a system restore, and everything went back well. it detects very well..

   FIREWALL: Zone alarm

   SPYWARE: Arovax anti spyware, spybot, spyware doctor, Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware , rouge remover

   Maintenence Software: Advanced windows care, ccleaner, regseeker. iobit smart defrag

   These are all free sofware that can be downloaded from
   http://www.filehippo.com or google.

   With these softwares you will be set to get rid of any problems on your pc.

   Best free anti-virus software has to be either AVG or Avast. Both have free-editions for download. However, Avast seem to cause problems for gamers. So AVG is a better bet. Downside is AVG doesn’t have auto-update.

   Last note, slow computers does not necessarily mean it is virus infected. It could be due to a heavily-fragmented hard drive or numerous programs running in the background.

   To clean your hard drive type this in Run from the Start Menu:

   cleanmgr.exe

   To remove unnecessary start-up programs type:

   msconfig.exe

   Go to the startup tab and untick anything you don’t need. It’s advisable that you should lookup the various program on that list on the internet first before you remove them.

    remember the free antivirus dosnt remove malware unless you buy the full versions so install antimalware (trial version)

    Sometimes Spybot can’t remove but other can indicate a presence of spyware in your system.

    obbytoo – actually AVG Free has auto-update, too! It checks for updates automatically, without any extra settings.
    I vote strongly for AVG, its detection is now superior to other free alternatives, see for example the latest results from AV-Test.org – http://www.av-test.org/certifications.php
