What is the best anti-virus program available on the market?

I have a toshiba satellite laptop and it is currently running AVG free edition. I am looking to get the best anti-virus for it. What is the best program?

    The very best antiviruses are ZoneAlarm for XP or BitDefender for Vista.

    Combine AVG Antivirus with Spyware Terminator & Zone Alarm to get good all-round security.

    AVG is the best although the free edition does not remove adwares, spyware and trojans. To compensate for this install Spybot – Search&Destroy. Update its definitions. Spybot scans for adwares, spyware and trojan and eliminates them using its secure shredder.It is compatible with AVG and lite on your system. Other paid versions are mostly resource hogs. AVG and Spybot do the job much efficiently than the paid versions.

    I can sum this up for you very quickly . theres a guy on youtube who tests antivirus software against malware , trojans, rootkits and viruses . and you get to watch which ones do good and which ones are all talk and no walk. I sugest watching this guys videos so you can judge for yourself which ones are good and which ones offer no protection at all .

    I would go for Mc Afee, Norton, It’s kindah pricey and takes up a lot of space in your computer but at least you know your secured from all this viruses spyware adware etc… and also be sure to download a good browser like Safari ..Coz it warns you if a site is loaded with viruses or other stuffs that is not so good and please don’t trust those anti virus that are free like AVG coz it won’t guarantee you sure protection …..
