The free version of avg is pretty good, though if you can afford it I would suggest buying the full version as it has more features that’ll help keep you protected http://free.avg.com/gb-en/homepage

I’ve been using Avast since I got the Windows 7 RC. Free, good options, but never really needed it since I know what I’m clicking on.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials on a Windows 7 desktop I just built. I really do not go anywhere questionable on the internet. Seems to work for me and doesn’t appear to be to much of a resource hog. Check out the link below. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Just personal opinion of course. I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly.

Microsoft Security Essentials would be a good, free option for Windows 7. It works quietly in the background and checks for spyware, viruses, worms, Trojans, and other malicious software. This link will help:
