symantec anti virus is the best one; do not mind paying a little price; it is absolutely good.

there is a paid version of the same but thats just for anti email spam and email scans etc don’t bother, you can look for reviews of it and you’ll see most people say its the best they’ve tried

Dreamcast,it has prevented me from getting viruses since 1998!

That or… you could use ClamAV or even better use a Unix system instead, thus you will find it almost impossible to get viruses

There is no easy answer to this question. Perhaps you should change the operating system also if you want more protection. But I AVG antivirus. I don’t think it is the best antivirus because I sometimes give my flash drive to someone and they tell me there are viruses in it. AVG has never warned me about them. I use it because it is probably the best FREE antivirus.

You get what you pay for.. hence AVG being complete tosh!

Best free one is AVG (to answer your question) but you might as well not have any installed as it’s complete rubbish

Fork out £30 for Norton a year if you want to be fully protected. You can install it on 2 PC’s so split the cost with someone.

Honestly, if you don’t you’ll end up with huge maintenance bills (voice of bad expericence with AVG talking)

Hacking your PC has nothing to do with Anti Virus protection.

Freebies aren’t all that brilliant either, and they are a false economy because if you get infected they all have a take it or leave it attitude. Not only that you have to have about another five programs running a well because they don’t do everything.

If you want the best you have got to pay for it, because if you pay for it you have some comeback because their reputation depends on it. For arguments sake mine only costs 67p per week and I only use one program to do the work of six! And I have never been invaded once by anything in over ten years.

Pay for your anti viral as that insures that you get the best out there, you get what you pay for. I`ve tried all the free ones. I`ve had AVG, it`s crap. Avg does not have firewall, did you know that? The free version does not provide it. You have to find it free somewhere else.Do you want to keep searching the internet for free software or just buy one piece of software and be done with it?If I may, I would recommend Kaspersky. Before you download crap like AVG that`s hard to remove from your computer and it slows your computer down, I suggest you buy this product.
