How to download avast anti-virus software?

i am uninstalling/deleting McAfee from my pc and planning to download Avast…
where should i download it from ?? is it the best?
is it free?

    it’s either you download it at http://www.download.com or you purchase one on the nearest store that sells cd’s…yes it is the best..because i’m using ne right now..and it Works perfectly fine no worries and you can ask your technician to install it for you
