How can I remove the facebook notifications icon from my Blackberry?

No matter how many times I check all the different facebook menu’s on my blackberry, I still have 1 notification on my home screen that won’t go away. Also the number is grossly inaccurate, so I just want the notifications gone without removing the facebook app.
How can I do this?
And please no ridiculous answers such as “check in settings”

    You could try doing a hard reset of your blackberry. To do this just take your battery out for thirty seconds and then put it back in and turn it on. I do this a lot when things on my blackberry are being weird, and its always worked for me.
