I would download, install and run these:
Spybot Search and Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Malwarebytes
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
CCleaner
http://www.ccleaner.com/
In addition to your antivirus (McAfee) this will help with other malware/spyware/adware issues.
When your McAfee subscription runs out, I would suggest downloading a free antivirus like AVG (http://free.avg.com/us-en/download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition) instead of paying for your antivirus.

http://www.filehippo.com has a lot of free stuff. (safe)
AVG is great! I have been using it for over a year.
also Avast
You can also find Malwarebytes on filehippo. It is also great!

First what informed you their was a trojan virus on your PC if your anti-virus did not say it? It may just be a pop up scam to buy anti-virus software. Second a trojan is one of the worse virus’s as it means just like the trojan horse someone can remote access your machine. Lastly if you don’t have Microsoft’s anti-virus you can download it and run it for free for 30 days before it expiring or you deciding to buy it. You can get it off of Microsoft.com

GoodLuck!

You can safely run an online scan with superantispyware if malwarebytes antimalware (suggested above) doesn’t solve the problem

AVG free version is your best bet if you don’t want to pay for it. i would also install the free version of AdAware to get rid of cookies, Etc… The free version of AVG does not do that, but i will take care of a trojan.

Depends on where you live. If you live in the south midwest you can use the Roadrunner net server and get free security software from their website.

Download and install and run in safe mode:
superantispyware
malwarebytes.
Once you clean it out put something like Avast on it.

Try Hitman Pro. You can clean with it for 30 days and after that you can just use it to scan PC for malware and use other scanners, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, A-squared, to clean anything it finds.

AVG is the best free anti-virus I have ever used. It has:
Anti-Virus
Anti-Spyware
LinkScanner (scans a Google search)
E-mail Scanner
Resident Shield (When you search a website, it will block any viruses, spyware, etc. from getting in your computer.)
Update Manager (Lets it automatically update so you don’t have to)
Get it all free at http://free.avg.com
It has been working for me since 2007 and has kept me virus free since. I highly recommend it. 🙂
