Do I need to download anti-virus software on all computers in house?
I have one desktop and 2 wireless laptops. If i am trying to protect against viruses do I need to download onto all 3 computers. Are there any software programs that give a discount for mutliple downloads?
Thanks!
Wasn’t sure since they are sharing a router what the situation was. Thanks for all the answers.

If they all have access to the internet…YES, they all need anti-virus protection at minimum. Personal firewalls are a good idea also.

Yes, you need protection on all 3 machine, and more importantly, you need to make sure all 3 machines are fully up-to-date on their security patches.
Eset NOD32 http://www.eset.com has discounts for “family packs” of 2, 3 and 4 licenses. Plus it’s a VERY good antivirus product.

Yes, all computers must be protected by anti-virus and firewall software. Windows has a built-in firewall that should be good enough for most people. As to anti-virus software, avast! Antivirus Home Edition can be downloaded for free and has free registration (home use only):

You _must_ register after 60 days, but again, registration is _free_. Just read the instructions and you’ll be good.

Yes on every PC that is connected to the Internet. You can get viruses via e-mail, visiting websites, you name it. Norton has pretty good prices on a 3 user Internet Security Suite.

Yes, you need it on every computer.
As for a recommendation, I’ve personally used PCTools’ Spyware Doctor w/ Antivirus for over 2 years now and have not had a single infection over that time. I also recently recommended it to a couple of my friends and they love it!
Plus, you can’t go wrong with a company that has won over 100 awards for their software.
And when you buy a license for it ($30), that covers up to 3 computers so you would be all set.
Here is a pretty good site that compares some of the top rated spyware removers if you are interested:

Good luck!
