Windows Defender or Microsoft Security Essentials are two good ones, I have both on my computer and my computer is running fine, even with all the stuff that I do (:]) They are both free too, just a little download that is under 10 minutes, depending on what browser he runs in, but other than that, that’s all!
Hope i helped >.<

An antivirus and tools such as Malwarebytes can be ran in conjunction with each other (so long as malwarebytes is the free version) So I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials with Malwarebytes (You must manually scan with Malwarebytes) And remember: Even though you have antivirus software you still need to be smart about where you browse and what you download.

Try Microsoft Security Essentials – if it’s XP SP2 or higher. Free download with protection from spyware, viruses, worms, trojans, and other malicious software. This link will help: http://smb.ms/OutreachbRoao7
