What is the best anti virus software to get?
I am getting a new Dell laptop. I am spending about $1,400 on it and want to make sure it last and remains fast. I want to get a good anti virus software for it but don’t want it to slow my computer down, but I do want it to fully protect my laptop from viruses and hackers. I am willing to pay money for it so whatever the best anti virus there is is what I want. I will have windows 7 professional on it as well.

Check with your Internet company as they provide products for free & with free subscription. Comcast offers McAfee Security Suite. Norton is great, but expensive and slows your computer. Avant is free is pretty good.

i’m using avast home edition . The new version has been released on their website. It s a freeware. You can register yourself on the avast website to recive the registration key . They provide timely updates (small in size, ie. In kb’s. Which s usefull for people with limited internet plans ). It s fully legal n it generates a virus recovery database to report avast about the new viruses .
To detect n delete malwares on your comp use malware bytes . Another free software . N a powerfull tool to clean your comp of malwares. I use these softwares myself .

I prefer Avast, but I have friends who highly recommend AVG.
Both are free with free updates.
Both can be found by checking with CNET.

The best ones are:
Avast
Avira Antivir
AVG
They are all free–I would recommend AVG
Use Threatfire along with the antivirus–Threatfire monitors behaviours of programs that other antivirus would miss. Its very light on the computer but should not be used as the primary antivirus. it works alonside it like a support
A firewall thats really good is pc tools firewall plus.

I use Avast now, I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps
