   If you have both anti-virus programs installed, start by picking one and removing it. It is never a good idea to run multiple anti-virus applications. Next, try going to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ have it run a scan of your computer and fix any issues. Once the virus is removed, update whichever anti-virus software you decided to keep.

   There are no guarantees this will work, but some friends of mine say its great if you dont have money for an expensive antivirus program.

   IF ANY UPDATES ARE NEEDED, UPDATE EM.

   Turn OFF
   System Restore, Right click My computer > select Properties > System Restore Tab > Turn OFF System Restore on all drives and scan with the above programs in Safe Mode – Tap F8 during boot before Windows splash screen and select Safe Mode.

   Scan and delete the infections.

   Once removed, Turn ON System Restore, Right click My computer > select Properties > System Restore Tab > Turn on and create a new restore point.

   If you want to see how badly you’re infected, go to ww.trendmicro.com,
   and do the free scan Trend Micro’s House Call virus, spyware and malware scanner and cleaner. http://housecall.trendmicro.com

   If you have anything, remove them.

   If your files are corrupted and your OS Windows, is not working properly, then no choice, do a REFORMAT. You will need your restore cds that came with computer. When you do a Reformat, you will loose everything ! Documents, music, and pictures. If you don’t know how to retrieve your importants documents, then I suggest to take your hard drives to a professional. They can save this for you for a nominal fee.

   ATTEMPT TO DO YOURSELF:

   Download Spybot , download Defender, restart computer, then run Spybot. THESE 2 PROGRAMS ARE EXCELLENT.

   Virus Protection– 2 programs of virus protection will conflict with each other and will actually cancel out the protection. .

   Running Spybot and Defender, with EITHER Avast or Avg (great Free virus protection programs ) will keep a computer in good working condition.

   Windows Defender and Spybot are 2 really good Spyware Programs.

   There are alot of $ anti-virus and Internet security programs out there,
   ie: Norton, McAfee, Panda, Bitdefender. If you would like to pay $
   then get Kaspersky. I feel that is the best for your money.

   Do not panic.

   First, you use another PC to download Clamwin portable anti-virus
   and install Clamwin portable on a USB pen drive.
   Download here

   After installation, start Clamwin anti-virus on the USB pen drive and update the latest anti-virus definition files.
   Select the tools menu bar, set the preferences to remove virus.

   When the USB pen drive is ready to be use.
   Start the infected PC in safe mode by pressing F8 during start up.
   Run the Clamwin Anti-virus that is installed on the USB pen drive to scan the infected PC.
