Free for Vista is Microsoft Security Essentials. And for it being a Microsoft program, it’s rather decent and free.

Avast is one the best AV programs you can get;contentAux

I would also download Malwarebytes ( its free too) to help supplement any AV program you download;contentAux

Avira Anti Virus Personal is free, and it is the best scoring free virus scanner. Personally I use Kaspersky, but before Kaspersky, I used Avira Anti Virus Personal, and it protected me nicely, but I wanted a banner blocker so I upgraded to Kaspersky. Here is the link:

AVG free edition. It’s free, its somewhat light on system resources, and detects many of today’s viruses.

firs go to and look on the download page download “malwarebytes”
anti malware and run that, then go to and download avast
these are both free programs and the avast has ad ware and spyware detectors which will help a lot,
keep the firewall up in windows although some of the crap that is out there will stillcrawl over…Bob

Try Microsoft Security Essentials – it’s a free download and it defends your computer against viruses, spyware, worms, trojans, and other malicious software. This link will help:
