I cannot remove the Norton Anti Virus from my computer to install another. How can I do that?

I am interested in getting the free anti virus from AT & T, but it won’t let me because norton anti virus is still on my computer. I tried to remove it, but it keeps saying that I have something running within it. Thank you.

The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2006/2005/2004/2003 products from your computer. If Norton wasn’t such rubbish you wouldn’t need a separate tool to remove it from your computer.

NOD32 and Kaspersky are the best anti-virus applications and much better than the best sellers Norton and McAfee (recent tests at av-comparatives.org). If you want a free anti-virus, AVG, Avast! or AntiVir all are better than Norton (install only 1).

I also strongly recommend using FireFox, it’s a far better and safer alternative to Internet Explorer. If you add-on McAfee SiteAdvisor, it will warn you of potentially harmful sites. I also recommend CCleaner which is a free system optimization and privacy tool.

Bring up the task manager and end any processes that may be norton related. You can also try Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to remove any Norton that still may be in your system.
