Download a 30 day trial program and scan your computer for virus

Download and install a free anti-malware program such as Malwarebytes’ anti-malware. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Restart your computer and press “F8” repeatedly before you see the Windows logo. This will bring you to the Windows Advanced Options Menu.

Scroll down the menu and select “Safe Mode” to log into Windows Safe Mode.

Launch your antivirus program. Perform a a full system scan and delete all malicious files.

Launch Malwarebytes’ anti-malware and click the “Perform quick scan” radio button. Click “Scan.” Malwarebytes will scan the system for malicious malware.

Click “OK” when the scan is complete, then click “Show scan results.” Place a check on all the detected malware and click “Remove selected.” Malwarebyte’s will remove all detected malware.

Restart your computer normally to complete the process.

Your question is like “Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?”

If you want to make sure that you don’t have a virus before you download an antivirus program, reformat and reinstall your operating system from the original installer disk.

Edit: Malwarebytes’ is not an antivirus. It’s just an antispyware so it doesn’t count but it helps though and you can install it in safe mode where most virus can’t operate. However, MBAM can’t remove rootkits if that’s what you have. Only real antivirus can remove rootkits.

When I had security tool I did this:
    1. rebooted pC
    2. as soon as it became active, started hiitng F8
    3. went to the process table
    4. there stopped its processes

That’s all. Then I did a full system scan to get rid of virus completely
